Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Bulgarian Society of Interventional Cardiology and the Bulgarian Society of Cardiology it is my pleasure to welcome you to the first Bulgarian Bifurcation Course, 13-14 January 2012, in Sofia, Bulgaria, where specialists from European countries will gather seeking to grow in the field of Interventional Cardiology.

The Bulgarian Bifurcation Course’s mission is to enhance the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health services in the field of Interventional Cardiology in the Balkan countries by conducting a broad practical educational program based on international scientific research and professional experience.

This course will review the latest approaches to the treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions focusing on important theoretical, but mainly very practical topics in interventional therapy for coronary bifurcation stenoses.

The course will give a unique chance to the attendees to practice the techniques during specially dedicated “hands-on” sessions on special dedicated flexible coronary bifurcation models, guided by eminent experts from around the world. It will provide the opportunity to learn, interact, update and have hands-on training with in-depth review of the subject with the pioneers in the field. Leading experts from Europe and Asia will be available to have one to one interaction during the course.

The course will be held in English. There are only limited 100 seats for the course. Register fast to avoid disappointment.

Learning objectives:
To provide basic knowledge for bifurcation anatomy and physiology important
to understand angioplasty mechanisms;
To give knowledge about novelties about single and double stenting techniques;
To introduce and provide basic hands-on training with a new dedicated bifurcation stents.
In compliance with EBAC/ EACCME guidelines, all speakers/ chairpersons participating in this programme have disclosed or indicated potential conflicts of interest which might cause a bias in the presentations. The Organizing Committee/Course Director is responsible for ensuring that all potential conflicts of interest relevant to the event are declared to the audience prior to the CME activities.
Supported by an unrestricted grant from:
Bulgarian Society
of Cardiology
Bulgarian Society
of Interventional Cardiology
European Bifurcation Club
This programme is accredited by the European Board for Accreditation in EBAC Cardiology (EBAC) for „9“ hours of external CME credits. Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that have actually been spent in the educational activity. EBAC works according to the quality standards of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), which is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
